Being a student-athlete means my days are often packed from start to finish, and Tuesdays during the fall 2024 semester were by far my busiest. From early mornings to late nights, I balanced a demanding pre-PA course load, gained the clinical hours I needed, and dedicated myself to athletics. It’s challenging, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love being a student-athlete and working toward a successful career!
4:45am
the early bird catches the worm, right? either way, my day starts when my alarm goes off at 4:45 in the morning after a few times hitting the snooze button. I’d like to say that I do my skincare and take my time, but that could not be further from the truth. I roll out of bed, change into my workout outfit, brush my teeth, and grab an apple to eat on the way to the weight room.
5:30-6:30am
time for either weights or cardio! we do cardio 2x a week and a lift 3x a week. being surrounded by my teammates wakes me right up and starting with a workout sets myself up for a great day!
6:30-7:45am
this is my chill time before practice. I eat breakfast, get my ankles taped, and get some work done. whether it’s making a TikTok, working on tasks for the clubs I am in, or getting an assignment done, I try to utilize this time to be productive.
7:45-10:45am
practice time! we start with a warmup, then go through three events before a cooldown.
10:45-11:30am
after practice, I quickly go down to the training room to get ice before I head home. if I have time, I will get a quick body shower in before walking to my first class of the day.
12-2pm
physics lab!
2-3:15pm
I walk back home and honestly, I just lay in bed until my next class of the day:)
3:30-4:45pm
neuroscience class!
5-6:30pm
another chance to get any work done while laying in bed. at around 6 I will heat up my meal prep and get ready for work.
7-11:30pm
work as a tech at the hospital! I work at least once a week so I can keep my PRN status without overwhelming myself with practice, school, and keeping somewhat of a social life. I take vitals, clean patients, check their glucose levels, and perform phlebotomy.
12:00pm
shower again and get ready for bed. not an early wakeup tomorrow so I get to sleep in 💤
